India could impose AD obligation on Metal merchandise from EU, Japan, US

MUMBAI (Scrap Register): India could impose anti-dumping obligation on imports of sure metal merchandise from the European Union, Japan, the US and Korea for 5 years with a view to protect home gamers from low cost imports from these nations.

JSW Vallabh Tinplate Pvt Ltd and The Tinplate Firm of India Ltd have filed the applying for imposition of anti-dumping obligation on imports of coated/plated tin mill flat-rolled metal merchandise.

After conducting a probe, the commerce ministry’s investigation arm Directorate Common of Commerce Cures (DGTR) has advisable imposition of the anti-dumping obligation on the product from these nations.

The obligation advisable is within the vary of $222 per tonne to $334 per tonne.

“The authority recommends imposition of anti-dumping obligation equal to the lesser of the margin of dumping and the margin of damage, in order to take away the damage to the home trade. Accordingly, definitive anti-dumping obligation…is advisable to be imposed for 5 years…,” the DGTR mentioned in a notification.
